Skincare 101: Different Types of Pimples
Hey FaceTory Fam!
Tory here! I don't know about you but my skin has been breaking out more than usual ): Is it all the chocolate I'm eating? The protective face mask? Stress? WHO KNOWS ?! T^T This got me thinking. Sure they are pimples, no doubt, but what kind of pimple and I dealing with here?
Pimples, spots, blemishes, acne, breakout. We use these terms as more of an umbrella term, but below you'll find a more specific way to address them.
Blackheads: Pores filled with sebum.
Pustules: They are the most common form of a pimple. They are filled with pus and have a yellow/white center.
Papules: These are swollen red bumps without the white center.
Nodules: Are pimples that are deep within the skin and hard to the touch.
Cysts: Are pimples that are also deep within the skin but they are soft to the touch because they are filled with pus.
I hope this helps! Big thank you to the gals at FaceTory for making a quick video lesson on it! Check it out below!
Thanks for reading!
Love,
Tory <3
