Tips for Better Skin
Hey FaceTory Fam!
Is your skin acting up? Not sure what's causing blemishes, pimples, redness, dry patches, dullness, all of the above (maybe more)? Don't worry! We have some helpful tips to get your skin back on track!
Incorporate some actives! š
Before you incorporate active ingredients, make sure your skin barrier isn't compromised. You'll know if your skin barrier is compromised if it feels tight, sensitive, slightly painful, or tingly. If that is the case, simplify your routine to the basics and wait for your skin barrier to heal!Ā
Now, if you're breaking out in areas you're not used to then your skin may need some help sloughing off those dead skin cells and sebum that are clogging your pores. Look for products that contain AHA, BHA, or PHA. These ingredients help speed up the process of skin renewal! In other words, they make sure nothing is blocking your awesome skincare from sinking into your skin and giving your complexion all those amazing benefits (aka brightness, even skin tone, clear skin)!
Reduce sugar and dairy!š„š¦
Sometimes your skin can be a reflection of what your body is trying to tell you! Making better choices for your body and overall lifestyle can help your skin as well! For example, we mostly found that reducing our sugar and milk intake helped a lot when dealing with hormonal acne.Ā
Clean your sheets and phone! š±
Bacteria will accumulate-- and we don't even notice it sometimes! Make it a habit to disinfect your phone and any other devices that may come in contact with your face. And don't forget to wash your pillowcases and blankets too.
Pimple patches and calming ingredients! āØ
If you deal with pimples, apply pimple patches! These help a lot. Wear it throughout the night or day when needed and you'll see that your blemish is gone before you know it! We also recommend using calming products when your skin is feeling irritated. Some amazing calming ingredients are Oats, Centella Asiatica, Heartleaf, and Artemisia! Incorporate a serum or toner with these ingredients to help calm your skin.
We recommend adjusting your skincare routine based on how your skin is feeling and according to the season. We found that this helped our skin tremendously. Think about it, what your skin needs in the summer is different from what your skin needs in the winter.Ā
